I Stand.

I want to see real change. I'm tired of false promises, fake politicians and disappointment. As a former student, I know what is needed and I will go out of my way to make it happen

Help Us Fix It Now!
For those of you who regularly attend board meetings, you know how unproductive they can be. With the Board only voting on items once a month, there needs to be a greater sense of urgency in meetings. We suggest having more transparent budgets showing where the money is being allocated and shorter board meetings with clear and succinct agendas.
We need to address the overwhelming amount of violence in Jersey City. in 2015 there were 25 homicides in Jersey City alone. We want to take the kids off the streets and provide them with alternatives. As such, we want to provide mentorship activities, recreation within schools (Afterschool and weekends) and Trauma Care centers where kids can feel safe.
Jersey City is by and far one of the most diverse cities in the nation. We need to cater to our immigrant and ethnically diverse community members. We propose having students themselves establish a volunteer base to help break down language barrier and increase community involvement in the Board of Education.
Last year our campaign managed to help share tax abatement revenues with schools. While this is a step in the right direction, PILOTS should pay the same 26% that regular property owners pay.

A Message From Our Campaign.

We have no chance of changing the flawed education system without the community joining forces with the school administrators, students and our Jersey City school board. We need to change the mindset of the students and show them that success is possible in addition to giving them a voice on the board so that they buy into the policies that it enacts. As a prior student of JCPS I understand the mindsets of these students better than anyone else running for election in recent history if not ever in JCBOE history. Our issues and platform reach far greater than Wards A,B,C,D,E or F but instead are more focused on the unity of Jersey City's myriad cultures and distinct perspectives. I want to help build one united Jersey City and for that we need a complete overhaul of the education system by introducing new ideas. But, of course, it is not possible without the efforts of all parts of Jersey City. As the Yoruba proverb states, it takes a village to raise a child.
